At an altitude of 633 m is the idyllic resort surrounded by a unique mountain landscape at the foot of the Nordkette. Thaur is located only 10 km from Innsbruck. The idyllic resort, where tradition is upheld, is not only home to Thaur nativity carvers,
but is also known as Tyrol's ''largest vegetable garden.'' Through its cultural programme in particular, the cosy village sets itself apart from the usual winter sports resorts. Still remaining from the trademark of the resort, the castle of Thaur, are only
ruins. At the nearby Glugezer, you will find a beautiful ski area with mostly middle-difficult slopes. After a strenuous day on the piste, various restaurants and coffee houses invite you in to relax and unwind.
