Between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries in the region exploit metallic minerals, most notably iron and copper menereurile. In 1842 the town is linked to the rail network, making the region a scenic tourist attraction. Between the years 1869 - 1873 is built water pipe that supplies drinking water part of Vienna.
