Kolsassberg - winter idyll and lots of sun!
The cosy, peaceful mountain village of Kolsassberg is located at an altitude of 906 m and lies nestled between the Karwendel mountain range and the Tux Alps, between the Olympic town of Innsbruck and the lovely Ziller Valley. The tradition-rich village invites you in to rest and relax, but also to partake in extensive winter strolls and ski on superbly prepared pistes. The elevated location of Kolsassberg offers you an imposing panorama of the Inn Valley as well as the surrounding mountain ranges. Also the close proximity to Innsbruck offers a perfect opportunity to go on lovely daytrip.
SkiWith the lift pass "Glungezer" you have access to 23 km of slopes at an altitude of 950 - 2,304 m. The entrance to the ski area is in Tulfes. The winter season 18/19 also offers a new 10-seater gondola lift "Glungezerbahn I", which replaces the 2-seater chair lift and guarantees comfortable access to the ski area. The well-prepared slopes meander through a magnificent natural landscape and offer varied runs for both skiers and snowboarders. From the summit, the ski area offers a breathtaking view of the enchanting Inn valley and the summits of the Nordkette.
Gourmets will particularly love the forest descents and can take a break in the quaint and cosy mountain huts. Families with small children feel really at home on the small but fine ski mountain Glungezer, which invites you to relaxed skiing with enough flat slopes.
Experts have the opportunity to try their hand at the 9 km long FIS downhill run with a difference in altitude of 1,500 m. The FIS downhill run is a great opportunity for skiers and snowboarders. Snowboarders can let off steam in the fun parks at Schartenkogel. At the edge of the pistes, rustic huts and a cosy restaurant at Halsmarter invite you to stop for a bite to eat.
After extensive downhill or cross-country skiing, or hiking, you have the opportunity to let yourself be culinary spoilt with Tyrolean specialities at the Kolsassberg. Noteworthy are, for example, the "Hofer Stub'n" or the "Berggasthaus Gartlach". Both localities offer guests a cosy Tyrolean atmosphere with good food as well as one or the other "Schnapserl' ". Satiated, you can toboggan from the Berggasthaus Gartlach on a natural tobogganing run right down to Kolsassberg.
