About WeerbergDetails and images of Weerberg

        Weerberg

Weerberg is situated 900 metres high on a plateau above the Inntal valley, away from the heavy traffic routes. It therefore offers an impressive panoramic view of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains in the north, the Kellerjoch in the east and also of Innsbruck, which is approx. 25 km away. A day trip to the beautiful city which hosted the 1964 and 1976 Olympics is a must! A 30 km journey in the opposite direction leads you to the wonderful Ziller valley and its almost endless choice of pistes. So due to its central location, Weerberg is an ideal base for all kinds of excursions. As it happens, with a stretch of 14 km, Weerberg is also one of the longest villages in Austria.

        Recommendations for travel Weerberg

It is generally quiet in Weerberg. You can stop off in one of the guest houses or cosy snack-bars on the mountain. If you still want to be active even after you’ve hung up your skis, why not try snowshoe hiking! Simply hire equipment and off you go on the signposted snow shoe hiking trails through the glittering winter landscape. If you don’t dare go it alone, then you can go on a guided tour. You won’t be missing out either if you choose to simply go walking, you can enjoy the lovely, prepared winter hiking trails and the wonderful view of the village and mountains. The routes through the snow-covered forest to the Hotel Sunnbichl and from Innerst up to the Weidener Hütte are really recommended. From there you can quickly descend with the 7 km long toboggan run, which is one of the longest in Tyrol. There are various ways to go back down to for example, Hausstatt, where you can then stop off for a rest in Gasthof Hausstatt or the SB-Restaurant.
