Zams - where the entire family relaxes!
Zams, situated peacefully between the snow-covered peaks of the Venet Massif in the heart of the TirolWest holiday region, promises typical Tyrolean holiday flair. The cosy resort has retained its original character and exudes a heart-felt charm that attracts holiday makers again and again, due to its colourfully painted farm houses, rustic guest houses and the Kronburg, throning a hilltop. You can best enjoy an unforgettable panorama from the 2,212 m high Krah mountain, from which you can see the Zugspitze. Winter sports fans will get their money's worth in the small, family-friendly Venet ski area. The ski area, with 22 kilometres of piste, lies directly at your door and is quickly reached with the cable car starting in resort! A varied selection of numerous bars and restaurants, diverse spa areas and the opportunity to toboggan and ice skate don't allow boredom to become an issue.
SkiWith the "Venet" lift pass, you have access to 22 kilometres of piste and 7 lifts in the TirolWest holiday region! The easy to intermediate pistes stretch from 780 m to 2,212 m altitude. The southern side, with its short slopes and flat ski fields are especially suitable for beginners and returning skiers.
On the snow-sure northern side the pistes a little more challenging. On the run to Rifenal you will cover 1,250 m of altitude, and with good snow conditions you can even ski into the valley and cover another 1,400 m in altitude!
Off piste there are fabulous opportunities for free riders and ski tours, so that experienced winter sports fans won't be short-changed! On the peak of the Krah Mountain at 2,212 m, you will find the newly redone panoramic view restaurant as well as the children's paradise with magic carpet, practice lifts and children's playground, where the little ones can have fun learning how to ski. Night owls can enjoy a floodlight piste at the Riefen lift.
Additionally, the newly built fun park at the Hüttenlift offers jumps and slides skier and boarders. A special highlight is the "Big Air Bag", a huge bouncy air bag, whic promises accident-free jumps practice and a whole lot of fun.
During the children's ski weeks (12 - 25/01/19 and 9 - 22/03/2019) there is a free lift pass, ski lessons, ski equipment (ski, ski boots, poles, helmet) and childcare service (5 days each) included for children between 3 and 5 years (ID required!) for stays from 5 nights. A lunch is also available (€60 per week). More information at the accommodation in resort or in the tourist office.
Start a cosy end to the day in the Venet region with a stop at one of the rustic mountain lodges. After a savoury meal, look back on the day's skiing with friends. Restaurants and coffee houses in the valley are also waiting to spoil you with regional specialities. Cosy bars and pubs offer further evening entertainment opportunities, and the neighbouring resort Landeck (approx. 3 km away) also has a disco to offer.
If you'd rather have a more sporty or laid-back evening, try out the numerous other activities, e.g. tobogganing, ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides, winter hikes or spa treatments.
A total of 29 km of medium difficulty cross-country trails await cross-country skiing fans in the surrounding areas. The Hubertus trail starts from the Kaunergrat Nature Park Centre at the Gachenblick, at an altitude of 1,690 m and is about 8 km long. With a challenging ascent to the "Harbeweiher" it goes up to 2,043 m. The same starting point is also found on the 6.7 kilometre long Bärenbad cross-country trail. A little further away, the Kaunertalrunde runs from Feichten to Platz and back, offering everything a cross-country skier could wish for: flat passages, fast descents and steep climbs. The Fuchsmoos trail also attracts cross-country skiers of all fitness levels, as there are several ways to shorten the route.
The Harbel cross-country trail is particularly suitable for beginners, offering ideal conditions with a length of 2 km and a difference in altitude of 70 m.
