About Worgl - presentation, information, photos and recommendations
Wörgl – Lively town in the Inntal valley!
Wörgl is a town in the Tyrolean Inntal valley located close to the German border. With 13,000 inhabitants Wörgl is one of the larger towns in Tyrol and has much to offer. It is situated at the mouth of the Brixental valley and the mountain pass road leading to the high plain. Thus Wörgl is located not far from the lift network Skijuwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau und SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. The lively Tyrolean town might not have direct access to the ski area, but offers great leisure activities and shopping opportunities in return. Travellers looking for a good infrastructure and numerous possibilities for going-out are at the perfect spot in Wörgl in Tyrol.
SkiThe lift pass "SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental" grants you access to 284 km of pistes, of which 23 km are classified as ski routes. The multiple award-winning ski area with 90 modern lifts perfectly connects the different ski mountains. Adventurers and adrenaline junkies can look forward to a whopping five action-packed snow parks and fun areas, while freeriders will find their eldorado above the tree line. Especially Hopfgarten is popular with freeriders. The wide slopes offer a lot of space for deep snow riding apart from the pistes.
But also families are in perfectly good hands. The numerous ski schools will keep the little ones busy and help them take their first swings on the piste, while their parents can explore the ski area freely. The various children's areas were designed with care and the kids can learn skiing in a playful way.
Winter sport enthusiasts who like to take long runs without interruptions should check out the approx. 7 km valley run from the Hohe Salve down to Söll. In general you will find valley runs in the ski area leading down to all resorts of the SkiWelt. The ultimate kick provides the "Alpseite" run. With a 80% downhill gradient this run from the Choralpe down to the middle station is a real challenge, even for experienced skiers.
Other treats of the ski area are the speed measurement run and the public racing track with time measurement. With the "Skiline" function you can reconstruct your day of skiing online at home and "SkiMovie" in Westendorf offers you a chance to get filmed while skiing and download the clip later on.
The closest access to the ski area "SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental" from Wörgl is the approx. 5 km distant Hopfgarten.
Those, looking for some more diversity can upgrade the lift pass to the "Super Ski Card" (see Ski Region). You can access 23 ski regions in Tyrol and Salzburg, with 2,750 km of pistes, accessible via 937 lifts!
