General information
At an altitude of 967 m and with 1185 inhabitants, Winklern lies directly at the foot of the Iselsberg mountain, at the boarder between eastern Tyrol and the beatiful Mölltal valley in Carinthia. It is surrounded by the mountains of the 'Hohe Tauern' nature reserve, on the sunny side of the valley. Here you will find a cultural landscape, the variety of which you will find very impressive: mountain farmhouses, mills and many cultural, historic buildings shape this national park community.
Due to its central location, you have access to innumeable excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity, as well as the use of the entire sporting opportunities of the eastern Tyrol and Upper Carinthia. Your favourite activity is bound to be available here.

From the South:

By train:
Take a train to Mallnitz or Lienz station, then travel further by bus
