Wald im Pinzgau, lying between 885 and 1600 m above sea level, and with 1212 inhabitants, is situated in the mountains close to a skiing area. Both Wald im Oberpinzgau and the alpine pasture village of Königsleiten lie in this national park, nestled between the mountain massifs of the 'Hohe Tauern' and the 'Pinzgauer Grasbergen'. Linger here amongst the unspoilt nature - in summer as well as in winter.
How to get there
By car:
From Vienna: A1 western motorway to Salzburg - A10 Tauern motorway to the Bischofshofen exit - Schwarzach - Zell am See - Kaprun - Mittersill - Wald im Pinzgau.
From Munich: Motorway exit Siegsdorf - Lofer - Zell am See - Kaprun - Mittersill - Wald im Pinzgau.
By train
Zell am See train station; then take a local train or bus to Wald.
