General information
Uderns, lying 549 m above sea level and with 1502 inhabitants, is situated in the mountains, by a river and a skiing area. In the heart of the Zillertal valley, where the valley is at its broadest and where the sun shines for the longest, lies the lovely area of Uderns.Take a look around, the town has retained its village character, in peace and tranquility.
Summer resort
In the Zillertal valley, you have the best opportunity to be close to nature. For there, nature lovers and enthusiasts will find all the things they value: easy walks, high-alpine tours, hikes from cabin to cabin, glacier and hill walks, and one of the most demanding mountain-climbing areas in Europe - the 'Ewigen Jagdgründe' in Ginzling.
Winter resort
The Zillertal valley, the broadest side-valley of the Inntal, covers an area of over 1.000 km2. Around 30,000 inhabitants are distributed amongst 25 communities in the valley. Unlike the other Tyrolean valleys, the Zillertal, stretching for 32 km, doesn't encounter a single valley 'step' - instead the valley's hight increases only slightly, and barely noticeably, from Strass (522 m) to Mayrhofen (628 m).
The Zillertal valley is well-known as a mecca for snowboarders and skiers, as approx. 465 km of pistes are available there. Broad slopes or steep descents, in powder-snow or on the spring-firn - here, everyone is catered for!
