St. Urban - family paradise with charm!

SkiThe approx. 7 km from St. Urban away ski area "Simonhöhe" offers you a total of 13 km of well-prepared pistes of different levels of difficulties at an altitude of 990 - 1, 340 m. The manageable ski area offers 7 tow lifts and a baby lift and guarantee perfect fun on the piste for the whole family.
Especially beginners and families will find beautiful, clear and children friendly tracks. Children have numerous opportunities to learn how to ski or just play around. A fairytale-forest run, a children ski land, a toboggan and the "Simonhoppl" will always put a smile on the little ones' face. Snowboarders and freestylers get their money's worth in the fun park.
Whoever thinks this is not enough and is not scared of a piste that is further away can experience pure ski enjoyment in the 40 km away ski area Bad Kleinkirchheim - St. Oswald. Over there a piste network over 100 km is available to you.The majority of intermediate pistes especially invite the experts, but also beginners will find the ideal conditions.
After a divers and fun day on the pistes the cosy pubs and restaurants invite you in to enjoy the rest of the day. There you will find yourself spoilt with regional specialities and you should not miss out on trying one of the local "Schnapserl". The beautiful natural surrounding is ideal for a relaxing stroll. Especially around the Urban lake you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view.
Further, a toboggan run , a ice sports surface for ice skaters and ice shooters ensure diverse apres ski winter fun. Those who rather prefer to go out in the evening, should take a trip to the 25 km distant Klagenfurth. There you will find various bars and discos where you can dance until the early morning hours.
Cross-country skiing in St. Urban is especially attractive due to the wonderful location and idyllic trails the area has to offer. Fans of the Nordic discipline will find all around the ski area "Simonshöhe" 3 cross-country trails that make 22 km of tracks. Sports and exploring the natural surroundings can be combined ideally here.
There are further small but nice cross-country areas to be found in the region. Even if they may be located a little bit further out, such as "Hochrindl", they are surely worth to be checked out.
