Söll - skiing fit for a king!
With its picturesque surroundings and inviting atmosphere, Söll (703 m) lies between the Wilder Kaiser mountains (2,344 m), and the Hohe Salve (1,829 m). A cosy, casual atmosphere dominates the scene during the day, and there are also things to experience here by night. Above all, Söll is known for its great après ski, and its discos and bars ensure a colourful nightlife. Whether you like bowling, squash, ice skating, tobogganing both day or night, guided snow-shoe tours or an excursion to a panoramic bath, Söll's sport and leisure offerings are sure to offer unlimited fun!
SkiWith the lift pass "SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental" you have access to one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world! On numerous occasions, SkiWelt has won prizes as one of the best ski areas in the world. 90 modern lifts, 284 km of piste (of which 254 km can be covered with artificial snow) including 23 km of ski routes, as well as four snow parks offer unlimited skiing fun. Regardless if you are young or old, novice or professional – SkiWelt has something for everyone. The gondola via Hochsöll makes for a perfect connection to the Piste at Hohe Salve - and from there to the whole ski area! The 2.5 km long, intermediate valley run down the Hohe Salve in particular, as well as the 4 km long family run, promise unlimited skiing fun. Furthermore, near Söll, you also have the choice to go night tobogganing over a total length of almost 8 km.
Leisure skiers and beginners will get their money's worth just as much as true pros. Freeriders can let off steam in e.g. Hopfgarten. Highly culinary treats can be had in the 81 huts and restaurants throughout the ski area. Children won't come off badly either: with a witch's see-saw, witch's hunch, dark tunnel and much more, the children's area "Hexenwiese" is a paradise for little skiers who can learn skiing in a playful way. The Söll ski school also offers age-appropriate lessons as well as childcare for all ages.
If you are going on holiday together with your children, or if in fact you yourself have a thing for fairytales, you should definitely check out the new 10-person "discovery"-gondola in SkiWelt Söll. Interesting experiences built around the theme "Hans in Luck" await you!
Another highlight of the Skiwelt Söll is the ski and boardercross line "Red Viper" with time measurement and video recordings. At the end of the day, skiers can download their own video and relive the run once more.
By upgrading to the "Super Ski Card" lift pass (see Ski Region), you get access to over 2,750 km of piste and 943 lifts in 22 ski regions in Tyrol and Salzburg.
Rustic lodges and mountain snack stations, as well as bars and cafés invite you to discover their diverse après ski opportunities, which have made Söll a favourite winter sports resort. When the après ski bars close their doors, the party continues through the night in the disco "Whiskey-Mühle".
Families should not forget an evening toboggan excursion or a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride, where you will enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the winter landscape of the Wilder Kaiser.
Naturally there is also a full range of sporting opportunities including squash, skittles, guided winter hikes, ice skating, and much more. Another highlight is the guided snow shoe hike through the wintry mountain terrain.
Approx. 65 km of cross-country skiing trails run around the Wilder Kaiser, which due to their variety, suit all abilities. The widely spread network leads through sun-drenched valleys and offers access to the trails in St. Johann and Kitzbühel. Söll provides about 22 kilometres of trail, including the 7 km Sunnseit-trail facing the sun, ensuring impressive panoramic views.
A special highlight is the cross-country ski centre in Angerberg/Mariastein which offers you 40 km of perfectly prepared trails, located peacefully and including a night trail. Cross-country skiing lessons are offered in all resorts at the Wilder Kaiser. Over Ellmau, you even have access to the "Koasaloipe" trail, opening up an additional 225 km of fun!
