Summer tourist resort
The Village Mondsee is situated on lake Mondsee which is 7 km long and 2,7 km wide. The lake lies south of Salzburg and is one of the warmest lake for bathing with a temperature of 20 degrees most of the time. Culturally the village Mondsee has also got quite a bit to offer. Like for instance a former Benedictine monastery which was established around 748 and was extended to a castle in the 17th century.
Especially outstanding is the gothic parish church with many interesting works of art.
How to get there
By car:
From Vienna (271,1 km away) drive onto the B221, then onto the B1, then onto the A1, then onto the B154 and then finally onto the Rainerstraße.
OR
From Linz (279,7 km away) drive onto the B3, then onto the B227, then onto the B221, then onto the B1, then onto the A1, then onto the B154 and then finally onto the Rainerstraße.
