How to get there
By car: via A 12 Inntalautobahn and then A 13 Brennerautobahn til to the exit Stubaital, direction Mieders (extra duty). Duty-free possibility is to take from Innsbruck Süd B 182 Brenner Bundesstraße til exit Schönberg and then to Mieders. By train: to Innsbruck main station and from there a bus to Mieders. By airplane: the nearest airports are Innsbruck and Munich.
Location
Mieders (982 m above the sea level, 1600 inhabitants) - the cosy village near to the Serles. The little and traditional tyrolean village in the mountains, at the beginning of the 'Stubaital', is situated close to the Serles, the house-mountain of Mieders. Visit by a romantic walk the highest situated monastery of Europe 'Maria Waldrast' and after that enjoy the traditional monastery-restaurant. You can also hike on the Serles, 2718 m above the sea level, from where you have a fantastic view.
Mieders in summer
Easy to reach, only 15 minutes away from the capital of Tyrol,Mieders offers eventful entertainment. Active holidays in the Stubaier Alpen - mountainbiking, hiking, climbing, paragliding, tennis, riding, swimming, summer skiing on the Stubaier glacier, and some more else. Enjoy the Stubaital with summer night festivals, talks with the local people or watch the cows come home from the alps. An eventful entertainment program for children is offered 5 times a week.
Mieders in winter
4 skiing areas offer skiing entertainment non stop - the skiing center Schlick 2000, the 11-er Lifte in Neustift, the family skiing area Serles (in the center of Mieders) and the greatest all over the year opened skiing area of Austria, the Stubaier glacier. A free schuttle service to the several sking areas, different skiing-schools and ski-rent stations complete the offer. Also you should enjoy the wonderful (40 km) cross country slope of the Serles lifts in Mieders. Subject to alterations.
