Leogang - total winter holiday!
At 800 m, Leogang is situated in an attractive side branch of the Glemm Valley. It is perfectly connected to the sensational ski area over the Great Asitz (1,914 m). The idyllic resort is great for relaxation-seeking holiday makers. With the ski bus you can easily reach the valley station and the Asitz gondola.
The more famous sights include the chapel of Saint Anna, which has belonged to Gasthaus Hüttwirt since 1904. Leogang's history is also presented in the mining and Gothic museum, which is located in lodges approx. 4 km away, unforgotten and preserving insight into the life and hard work of the miners at the high point of mining in Leogang.
SkiWith the "Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Fieberbrunn" lift pass, you can seamlessly ride over to the "Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn," and take on 270 km of incredible pistes. "Two lands, one lift" is the motto here, and that includes the connection between the Skicircus and Fieberbrunn, with a total of 70 lifts as well as a massive selection of pistes in one of the largest ski areas in the world. The 10-person gondola "TirolS" significantly adds to the collection of pistes, increasing it by 20 percent. The lift takes you from the valley station Reckmoos-Süd up to the middle station at the bottom of the valley of Hörndlingergrabens, and from there out up to the Reiterkogel, in the centre of the Skicircus. Pure skiing fun is guaranteed here at an altitude of up to 2,100 m! The 12-er Express makes for a seamless connection from Zwölferkogel to Westgipfel.
New to the 2018/19 winter season is the 10-er Kohlmaisbahn lift, which is split over two stretches. It replaces the older lift of the same name and can carry up to 3200 people an hour. There's been investments in the Asitzmuldenbahn lift too: the old 6-person lift has been replaces with a modern 8-person chair lift, with heated seating, weather protection and automatic bar restraints. The new lift can carry up to 3500 people an hour.
The pistes in the upper half of Leogang are predominantly blue and easy to ride along. However, one run in particular beckons with time measurement, and the black Tarlack run dares experts to test their skills. For the smaller skiers, a children's area is to be found. With the gondola, ride over the Asitz and into the Glemmtal, where further carving runs, numerous moguls, steep slopes and two illuminated pistes are waiting to be explored. An armada of snow cannons take care of providing high levels of snow security. Gorgeous freeride opportunities can be found, for example, on the Zwölferkogel-West and Schattberg-West, but use caution - these areas are reserved only for pros.
In the Nitro Snowpark Leogang, with boxes, rails, corners, big air kickers, and much more, freestylers will really get their money's worth! The park was designed by the world champion Stefan Gimpl. Also worth a mention: throughout the entire Skicircus, you will find over 40 Wi-Fi hotspots!
Whoever still finds the connecting areas to be not enough, we recommend upgrading to the Super Ski Card (see ski region). This card is also valid in ski areas sich as Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, Schneewinkel and Ski Juwel (Alpbachtal and Wildschönau). With this lift pass, you can ski in a a total of 22 ski regions in Tyrol and Salzburg on over 2,750 km of pistes and enjoy limitless skiing!
