Landeck - Ski enjoyment for the whole family!
At a height of 817 m, Landeck is located in the middle of the TirolWest holiday region. The resort is surrounded by idyllic villages, picturesque fortresses and castles and the wonderful backdrop of the Venet Mountain. The town's landmark, "Schloss Landeck" was built on a towering rock above the River Inn and still watches over the town today. You can enjoy an unforgettable panoramic view at its best from Krahberg, at 2,212 m high, where you can also enjoy the view of the Zugspitze mountain. Winter sports fans have access to manageable pistes, therefore families find the Venet ski area appealing. With Landeck being a city of shopping and tourist attractions, it really makes for a charming holiday destination.
SkiWith the lift pass "Venet" lift pass, you have access to 22 kilometres of piste and 7 lifts. The easy to intermediate pistes stretch from 780 m to 2,212 m altitude. The southern side, with its short slopes and flat ski fields are especially suitable for beginners and returning skiers. On the snow-sure northern side the pistes are slightly more challenging. On the run to Rifenal you will cover 1,250 m of altitude, and in good snow conditions you can even ski into the valley and cover a further 1,400 m in altitude!
Off piste there are fabulous opportunities for free riders and ski tours, so that experienced winter sports fans won't be short-changed! On the peak of the Krah Mountain at 2,212 m, you will find the newly renovated panoramic restaurant as well as the children's paradise with magic carpet, practice lifts and children's playground, where the little ones can have fun in the snow.
During the children's ski weeks (12 - 25/01/19 and 9 - 22/03/2019) there is a free lift pass, ski lessons, ski equipment (ski, ski boots, poles, helmet) and childcare service (5 days each) included for children between 3 and 5 years (ID required!) for stays from 5 nights. A lunch is also available (€60 per week). More information at the accommodation in resort or in the tourist office.
The leisurely evenings in the Venet region begin with a stop off in one of the many rustic mountain huts. After a hearty meal you can relax and look back on a day's skiing in good company. Restaurants and coffee shops wait to spoil you with regional specialities not only on the mountain but also in the valley. Cosy bars and pubs offer further evening opportunities.
If you'd prefer to do something a bit more sporty or relaxing after a day's skiing, there are many activities available, such as tobogganing on the 4.5 km long run at Venet. Or go ice skating on the local ice rink. Wonderful winter hiking trails run through the holiday region TirolWest. Nature enthusiasts can take part in a guided themed hike through the nature park "Kaunergrat". Paragliders and hang-gliders will find perfect conditions here, due to the perfect warm upwinds. Three starting points are spread across the mountain side.
Cross-country fans will find a 22 km long network of trails of intermediate level in the Venet region. Wonderful high-altitude trails just above Fliss in the nature park Kaunergrat offer fantastic panoramic views. From the Gachenblick at 1,581 m altitude, you have access to 3 tracks. The longest is the Hubertus trail at 8 km. The intermediate level Bärenbad trail, with 6.7 km as well as the Harber track, with 2 km length are suitable for classic skiing as well as skating style and range over an altitude difference of 70 - 160 m.
