General information
Krakauebene lies 1300 m above sea level and has 600 inhabitants. The 'Healthy Valley' on the south side of the Schladminger Tauern offers a lot of possibilities for relaxation, in summer as well as in winter.
How to get there
Krakauebene can be comfortably reached by car and is well connected to public transport.
by Car: I: Tauernautobahn A10 - exit St. Michael - Tamsweg - Krakau II: Radstädter Tauernpaß - Mauterndorf - Tamsweg - Krakau.
From the west: Munich - Salzburg - Radstadt - then follow I or II.
From the east: Vienna - Semmering - Bruck - Unzmarkt - Scheifling - Murau - Seebach - Krakau
by Train: From Vienna: with the 'Suedbahn' until Unzmarkt, then by bus or train to Murau, then by bus to Krakauebene. From Germany by train until Radstadt, then by bus until Tamsweg.
by Aeroplane:
The nearest airports are in Graz, Salzburg and Klagenfurt.

Summer resort
The 'Styrian Krakau' is an idyllic high-lying valley south of the Niederen Tauern mountain range, protected by mountains in the north and open towards the south-east. Winter resort
The beautiful cross-country skiing area has reopened. Some 40 km of cross-country skiing trails, embedded in romantic valleys and surrounded by a charming winter landscape, are there to be discovered. For experienced cross-country skiers a skating trail is available. Be bewitched by the flair of the cross-country skiing trails in Krakau! The family ski lifts open at Christmas and due to modern snow-making facilities snow is guaranteed. There are 5 family lifts in immediate proximity. The dreamy winter landscape with plenty of sun and very little fog is ideal for enrolling in alpine skiing or cross-country skiing courses, guided tours e.g. on the Preger summit (2.741 m) with local skiing instructors.
