General information
At 1014 m above sea level and with 739 inhabitants, Kleinarl is situated in the mountains by a river and a skiing area. The picturesque village - in the middle of the Salzburger mountain region - is an inviting area to walk and to stay.
In Kleinarl, walking, horse-riding, biking and mountain climbing - on the edge of the 'Hohe Tauern' national park - are all possible, as well as loads of fun for the children, and all this can be enjoyed amidst tranquil surroundings. Despite its high-altitude location, Kleinarl is only a few minutes from the motorway, 70 km south of Salzburg.
Kleinarl offers everything to its guests, - whether young or old, families or singles, - in addition to walks and mountain tours there is a great number of other possibilities, so you can arrange your holiday exactly as the mood takes you.

Here, there are 140 km of well-managed, marked footpaths at your disposal, so you can explore the world of magnificent high alpine pastures with its hidden moutain lakes, where the people still live in harmony with nature. The most popular excursion destinations are the Jägersee and Tappenkarsee lakes, which lie only a few kilometers from Kleinarl. At the Jägersee, there is a short walk around the lake as well as tranquil, dreamy boat trips. The Tappenkarsee, a popular excursion destination but also a starting point for mountain tours to the Niederen and the Hohen Tauern, is the biggest mountain lake in the eastern Alps...

The Sportwelt Amadé offers a fantastic skiing area. As well as skiing and snowboarding, you can get your body going on the 250 km of cross-country skiing tracks and 2 high-alpine tracks. Tobogganing, ice-skating, hang-gliding and squash complete the leisure opportunities.
