Kirchbichl - holiday in peace and quiet!
In close proximity to the Inn curve, only approx. 10 km from the German boarder, one of the oldest towns in the lower Inn valley can be found: Kirchbichl. At 250 m altitude you can enjoy the cosy Tyrolean lifestyle in peace and quiet. The village offers the ideal access point for cross country skiers and winter hikers, but also Alpine skiers will find what they are looking for in the "Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental". Away from the pistes a diverse offer of leisure time activities awaits you: traditional guest houses and modern coffee bars invite you to linger. Those who prefer to stay sporty, can try the ice rink, the tennis courts or curling.
SkiWith the “SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental” lift pass you have access to one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world! On numerous occasions, SkiWelt has won prizes as one of the best ski areas in the world. 90 modern lifts, 284 km of piste (of which 254 km can be covered with artificial snow) as well as 23 km of ski routes, as well as four snow parks offer unlimited skiing fun. Regardless if you are young or old, novice or professional – SkiWelt has something for everyone.
Itter is directly connected to the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental by its local mountain Hohe Salve. The Salvista mountain railway takes you comfortably to the mountain station at 1,350 m, from where you can access more transport possibilities. Freeriders can take advantage of the Salvista valley run while freestylers can burn off energy in the snowpark in Söll. Westendorf and Ellmau also have snow parks with numerous challenging elements. A real treat can be had at one of the 81 rest stops that line the ski area.
If you are going on holiday together with your children, or if in fact you yourself have a thing for fairytales, you should definitely check out the new 10-person "discovery"-gondola in SkiWelt Söll. Interesting experiences built around the theme "Hans in Luck" await you!
By upgrading to the Super Ski Card lift pass, you get access to over 2 750 km of piste and 937 lifts in 22 ski regions.
Let yourself be spoilt with Tyrolean specialities after a long day on the pistes or on winter hiking trails. Numerous guest houses invite you in to offer you their Tyrolean "Schmankerl" and some regional "Schnapserl". Typical Austrian specialities can also be found in the coffee bars, which are always worth a visit. Those who'd like to turn night into day should visit Wörgl, where numerous pubs, bars and discos invite you in to party. You can do that on skis, too: four times a week, 10 km of piste and the two toboggan runs are illuminated for night skiing in Söll.
If you'd rather enjoy something more tranquil, you can spend a day in the spa centre, on the ice rink, curling, or on the tennis court.
Cross-country fans will find what they are looking for in the region around Kirchbichl. Be it skating or classic style, be it beginner or advanced skier: enjoy the scenery and rewind in the Alpine landscape. Further the holiday region Hohe Salve can be counted to one of the top cross-country terrains in the country. The Tyrolean head of state even assigned the area the quality sign for cross-country runs.
In the entire area there are approx. 65 km of tracks to be found in all levels of difficulty. These include for instance a track on the "Sonnenplateau" in Itter with a magnificent view.
