Itter - skiing fit for a king on a winter holiday!
Away from mass tourism you will enjoy the hospitality in Itter, whose townscape is mainly shaped by the old castle. The friendly Tyroelan village with its approx. 1,100 inhabitants, is situated at the foot of the Hohe Salve on a sunny plateau in a wonderful landscape. Here you can enjoy the beauty of the mountainous landscape away from the hustle and bustle. The Salvista gondola offers winter sports fans direct access to fun on the slopes, and practice lifts are located near the resort. The idyllic location offers numerous cleared hiking paths and cross-country ski trails, as well as a lit up natural toboggan run and refined cuisine, making this resort an ideal spot for a relaxing winter holiday.
The ideal location of Itter within the Brixental offers its visitors perfect conditions for a successful winter holiday. The ski area comprises approx. 284 km of prepared pistes – a great selection for both beginners and more experienced riders. The 90 lift systems ensure that both skiers and snowboarders can easily access the desired terrain without detours. After the skiing day has ended you can enjoy some sociable apres ski. In the "Salvista-Stadl" dancing, laughing and having fun is possible way into the early morning hours. A visit to the nearby ski resorts Söll and Hopfgarten are worth the trip. For getting to the resort you can either travel by car, catch a train or even fly to a nearby airport. The train station Hopfgarten is only approx. 6 km away, and the nearest airport, with approx. 75 km distance, is Innsbruck.

With the “SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental” lift pass you have access to one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world! The SkiWelt was voted to one of the best ski areas worldwide on various occasions by the platform "Skiresort Service International", and during the winter season 11/12 it was additionally granted an award as one of the top ski areas!
Unlimited fun is guaranteed with 90 modern lifts, 284 km of groomed pistes (254 km of which can be covered in artificial snow) and several fun parks. Itter is directly connected to the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental by its local mountain Hohe Salve. The Salvista mountain railway takes you comfortably to the mountain station at 1,350 m, from where you can access more transport possibilities. The 3.5 km long valley run to Itter awaits fit skiers on the Hohe Salve, and experienced skiers will also get their money's worth along the almost 2 km's worth of black pistes located at the Hohe Salve gondola. Freeriders can take advantage of the Salvista valley run while boarders burn off energy in the Snowpark Söll with tables, kicker, and rails. Westendorf and Ellmau also have snow parks with quarter-pipe and further challenging elements. A real treat can be had at one of the 81 rest stops that line the ski area.

By upgrading to the "Super Ski Card" lift pass, you get access to over 2,750 km of piste and 943 lifts in 22 ski regions.
Alongside eventful days on the piste, Itter and Hopfgarten offer numerous alternatives, such as tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating and curling. Snowshoe and winter hikes through the snowy mountains are also popular here.

Otherwise, various bars, restaurants, lodges and cafes with dancefloors ensure you won't be bored or hungry. Party animals can dance till the early morning hours in "Salvista-Stadl" in Itter. Trying out the nightlife in nearby resorts Ellmau, Söll or even Kitzbühel or Kirchberg is also worthwhile!
About 65 km of cross-country tracks run through the Wilder Kaiser, and due to their variety they suit every degree of difficulty. The widely spread network, of which boasts the Tyrolean cross-country seal of excellence, leads through sun-drenched valleys and offers access to the trails in St. Johann and Kitzbühel.
Itter itself offers approx. 10 km of track. Directly from the resort you have access to the popular trail on the sun plateau of easy to intermediate level.
In neighbouring Hopfgarten there are further 19 km of trails which are ideal for beginners to try. It is also recommendable to try the 2.8 km long high altitude track at Hochbrixen with magnificent panoramic view.
In Westendorf there is also the Auner track, the longest in the region with 10 km. A further highlight is the illuminated cross-country trail in the Driving Range Arena. Here, cross-country fans can continue their rounds until 21:30. In Wörgl there is a 1.5 km long illuminated trail which can be used until 22:00. The neighbouring resorts Ellmau and Going also offer fantastic trails in wonderful surroundings to enjoy the lovely scenery.
