Igls with its 2200 inhabitants is situated in the mountains at an altitude of 900 m, just 5 km away from Innsbruck. As the Olympic Winter Games were held twice here (1964 and 1976), Igls is known as a winter sport resort all over the world. For the sporty visitors, IGLS boasts a rich variety of options to choose from: Ski the immaculately groomed slopes and cross country ski tracks. Take an exhilarating toboggan downhill ride. Rush down the Olympic bobsled run. Go for a spin on the natural ice skating rink. Try your hand at Alpine curling. Play a game of tennis or squash.
And as a cultural center, many folkloric and cultural events take place in Igls and Innsbruck during the winter season.

From Italy:
Brennerautobahn (toll motorway) - exit Patsch/Igls, 3 km to Igls
By train:
Innsbruck main train station, then by bus 'J' or by taxi
By plane:
Innsbruck airport (international connecting flights): 9 km to Igls, take bus 'F' to the main railway station, then either take bus 'J' or a taxi
