Götzens – feel the magic of the mountains!
Götzens is a small, romantic resort just 10 km from Innsbruck. The former Olympic ski region from 1964 and 1976 is still an attraction for many guests. It is only 500 m to the Götzens/Mutters ski area, and Axamer Lizum is approx. 10 km away. The village is placed on a sunny terrace and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountain scenery.
For leisure activities the area leaves nothing to desire! Peace and relaxation can be found on a horse-drawn sleigh ride or during winter hiking and torchlight hiking. If you're into action you will enjoy a night out bowling or on the toboggan run. Furthermore, there is a leisure centre in Axams with a great offer of activities. The Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck invites guests to take advantage of its many shopping opportunities.
SkiGötzens is located directly in the ski area "Muttereralmpark", which is included in the Götzens/Mutters lift pass. With the lift pass you can use the 16 km of piste and 6 lifts below the Pfriemesköfl. The new 8-person gondola "Nockspitzbahn" will take you comfortably from resort to 1,800 m altitude. A sporty red piste leads from Pfriemesköpfl back to Götzens. Alternatively, there are flat, wide pistes for families and beginners, with which you can reach Mutters, and from there ascend back up via the Muttereralm lift.
Cracks can also try out the "Götzner Abfahrt" which was used as reserve track for the Olympic Games in 1964 and 1976. It one of the nicest forest descents in Austria. Several snow cannons ensure that there is no lack of snow!
The children's and beginner's area is situated at 1,800 m and is, therefore, very snow-sure. Cosy lodges in the ski area, as well as the restaurant at the Muttereralm lift mountain station invite you in for refreshments.
Those looking for a sociable and varied holiday are spot on in Götzens! Apres ski fans are offered numerous opportunities for amusing evenings, among other things, with one disco and two bars located at the Mutterer valley station.
In addition to the many party and leisure possibilities in Götzens, Magic Mountain Hotels and Clubs offer you a varied programme. These include snowshoe hikes, tobogganing, bob sledding, ice skating, winter torchlight hikes and ski races with award ceremonies.
The ski area Mutteralm- Mutters/Götzens is also the first ski area in Austria with a permanent slope for the sporting highlight with its Fat- and Snowbike trail. The route leads over the FIS route into the valley. A great experience for all those who don't just want to conquer the slope on skis. For those who prefer to relax in the evening, an excursion to the leisure centre in Axams, where you will find an indoor swimming pool with sauna area, is worthwhile.
If this is not enough, a trip to Innsbruck, only 10 km away, is recommended. In the capital of Tyrol you will find rich culture and entertainment on offer that leaves nothing to be desired.
Cross-country skiers are offered a total of 120 kilometres of track in the Olympia Skiworld Innsbruck. The stretches are very diverse and run through both urban and rural settings. The free cross-country ski bus is very practical, and brings you comfortably to the different areas.
The intermediate route from Innsbruck to Rinn measures a total of 46 km. At Gries in Sellraintal there is also a flood-lit track, which is quite leisurely and measures 1 km. A 30 km long track runs from Mutters through Götzens to Natters. In the cross-country centre Natters-Neugötzens, there are further trails on offer, with a total length of approx. 10 km. Beginners have the opportunity to take cross-country lessons.
