Flirsch - idyllic neighbour of St. Anton!
At an altitude of 1,154 km in the Stanzer Valley lies Flirsch, only around 12 km from the internationally known ski paradise, St. Anton. In this picturesque resort, it is slightly calmer than its raucous neighbour. This resort is ideal for those who prefer a more relaxed holiday away from the hustle and bustle. St. Anton is 12 k m away and and can be easily reached via the free ski buses. Alongside the many leisure activities available in St. Anton, Flirsch also has plenty to offer with leisure and evening programme e.g. an illuminated natural toboggan run.
SkiFrom Flirsch, you can comfortably reach St. Anton with the free ski bus and, with it, the largest connected ski area network, Arlberg. The network, which is made up of St. Anton, Stuben, Zürs and Warth-Schröcken, has existed since the 2018/17 winter season: the ski areas are now bound together thanks to the Flexenbahn, the Trittkopfbahn I and II, as well as the Albonabahn 2 lifts systems. The Flexenbahn lift connects Lech-Zürs with Stuben/Alpe Rauz with its 47 cabins, each for 10 persons - the equivalent of about 120 ski bus trips per day. Additionally, it allows for a gorgeous view of the Klostertal thanks to the large panoramic windows. With the lift pass "Alberg", people therefore have access to a total of 306 kilometres of pistes and 88 lift systems!
The Arlberg (1,300 - 2,811 m ) belongs to the most reliable regions for snow in the whole of the Alps. In combination with most modern snow-making systems, perfect piste conditions are guaranteed here. The Arlberg is not only famous for it's grand piste quality, but also as a real freerider's paradise. A total of 200 km of deep powder snow runs can be found here, for spending quality time in deep snow fields. The ski areas around Flirsch also attract families and beginners with numerous child care facilities and many blue pistes. The mountain restaurants of the Arlberg lift offer free Wi-Fi hotspots.
The funpark "STANTON" in the Rendl ski area, is the best place to be for snowboarders. Real cracks can try themselves on the sports World Cup racing track just below the Kapall (2,330 m), whilst beginners can get going on the Gampen with their first swings.
In the rather quiet and idyllic village of Flirsch, there are several ways to spend a day filled with variety. One example would be the lit toboggan run. Winter hiking trails are available in Flirsch as well as Pettnau.
Anyone who enjoys partying shouldn't miss the legendary après ski scene in St. Anton. Here there is lots to choose from, with numerous ski huts such as the "Krazy Kanguruh" or the "Heustadl" right by the valley run, inviting you in to catch the last rays of sun and toast to a successful day on the slopes. You also shouldn't miss out on a visit to the "Mooserwirt" - après ski with cult status!
Late at night the various bars, pubs and discos really start to rock. Favourite stops for dance and party fans is the "Kandahar", where international DJs and delicious cocktails ensure a great atmosphere.
The region St. Anton offers a total network of 40 km of tracks. The "Verwall-Loipe" (10 km), running from St, Anton to Verwall, offers wonderful impressions of the surrounding landscape and is known as one of the most beautiful trails in Austria. The longest track has 22 km and is called "Stanzertal Loipe". It begins in St. Anton and takes you along the Rosanna right into Flirsch. The easy level of this trail makes it also suitable for less experienced skiers to try themselves here. The highest track is located at 1,800 m altitude, at St. Christioph.
