Ellmau - skiing fit for kings!
At the foot of the "Wilder Kaiser", Ellmau (820 m), together with the neighbouring resorts, comprise Austria’s largest connected ski region. Winter dreams come true in the tranquil resort! In addition to fun on the piste - some of the runs reach into the centre -, Ellmau offers many other activities, e.g. curling, tobogganing, snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides. The "KaiserBad" awaits you with a great pool complex with activity pools and large sauna area. On the 55 kilometres of winter hiking trails, guests become more familiar with the region in a whole new way.
Further bonus points are the unique surroundings, an advantageous climate and of course the typical Tyrolean hospitality. The little ones won’t miss out either: numerous activities keep our smallest guests entertained!
SkiWith the lift pass "SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental" you have access to one of the largest and most modern ski regions in the world! On numerous occasions, SkiWelt has won prizes as one of the best ski areas in the world. 90 modern lifts, 284 km of piste (of which 254 km can be covered with artificial snow) including 23 km of ski routes, as well as several snow parks offer unlimited skiing fun. In the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental ski area you can also find three day and night tobogganing run, one of them with a length of approx. 4,5 km in ski area Ellmau-Going.
The high-tech, 10-person gondola "Hartkaiser", built in 2015, takes you up to 1,530 m altitude. The cabin lift has heated seating and Wi-Fi, and replaces the previous "Hartkaiser" lift, now being one of the most modern lifts in the world. This also leads to modernisation of the actual lift stations. The mountain station was enlarged to include the new "Erlebnis Eldorado Hartkaiser" activity area, including e.g. a children's restaurant and activity ski school. The valley station includes a new sports shop, restaurant, apres ski bar, parking garage and a heated ski depot.
From the Hartkaiser you can directly access the rest of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. The 4.1 km valley run from Hartkaiser in particular promises unlimited piste fun, besides loads of other attractive runs. Cracks can test the black pistes, and ample deep snow areas are also available. The 81 ski huts in the ski area promise a real treat.
By upgrading to the "Super Ski Card" lift pass, you get access to over 2,750 km of piste and 943 lifts in 22 ski regions (see Ski Region).
If you are going on holiday together with your children, or if in fact you yourself have a thing for fairytales, you should definitely check out the new 10-person "discovery"-gondola in SkiWelt Söll. Interesting experiences built around the theme "Hans in Luck" await you!
Rustic huts, snack stations, trendy evening spots, bars and discos offer countless après ski opportunities and have made Ellmau a favourite winter sports resort. One highlight in Ellmau is the weekly Ellmau ski night with mulled wine stands, hot rhythms and the "Pistenbulli" parade. Or, get to know the famous Tyrolean hospitality in the well maintained cafés and taverns. A round of moonlight tobogganing, ice skating or curling promise a fun time.
Those looking for more action are sure to find just the right thing with snow-tubing or a trip heli-skiing.
