General information
Stans lies 560 m above sea level, approx. 30 km east of Innsbruck, at the foot of the Karwendel mountain. This 'family nest', with its 1800 inhabitants, has a lucky mascot called the 'Stanser Zwerg' (the dwarf of Stans). That he is called the 'Staner' - and not the 'Stanser' - dwarf, is perfectly correct according to Tyrolean dialect, and it is this traditional Tyrolean identity which also determines the warm welcome that holidaying families will receive here.

How to get there
By car:
Inntal motorway - exit Schwaz - turn off at the Stans/Vomp junction in an easterly direction. From here, it is approx. 1 km to Stans.

Summer resort
Close to the area's capital town, culture and nature combine here to make an unforgettable holiday destination. The Tratzberg castle is one of the best-preserved Renaissance castles in the Tyrol, and with its famous 'Fugger' and 'Habsburg' rooms, gives evidence of the region's far-reaching past. In the very centre of Stans, the walkway through the 'Wolfsklamm' to St. Georgenberg begins, which is one of the most beautiful walks in the Alps. The roaring Stallenbach river burrows through the gorge, and pours in white-water cascades over the mountain walls.
At an altitude of 600 m you can really re-fuel your helath. Those who have enjoyed our innumerable walking opportunities in unspoilt nature, and the modern sporting facilities here, will know how wonderful holidaying in Stans can be. There's never a lack of relaxation and adventure! A long way from everyday life, the mountains, sun and fresh air are a benefit to your body and soul.

Winter resort
The name 'Kellerjochbahn', a traditional business and one of the first mountain lifts in the Tyrol is a recognised brand name with faultlessly functioning lifts and excellently managed pistes. There's a lot of room up there, on the broad sunny slopes of the 'Kellerjoch'. And a magnificent view, too. A secret tip for those who like firn snow: try the dream-like descents of the 'Naunz-Alm' in the springtime. And there's no need to worry about vehicle access to the skiing area - the roads are safe even in winter and there is a large carpark directly on the main road.
