General information
St. Sebastian a commune in the North of Styria. It is situated 800 to 1266 m above sea level and has 1178 inhabitants. One of the most important place of pilgrimage is Mariazell.
How to get there
St. Sebastian can be comfortably reached by car and is well connected to public transport.
by Car:
From Salzburg/Ybbs through the B 71 to the East to St. Sebastian.
From Mürzzuschlag/Wien through the B 21 to direction West to B 20 - direction North through Mariazell to St. Sebastian.
From S 6 (Semmeringschnellstraße) at Kapfenberg at the B 20 in the North until Mariazell and St. Sebastian.
by Train:
With the Mariazellerbahn from St. Pölten.

The nearest airports are in Wien-Schwechat and Graz.

Summer resort
In the middle of the amazing mountains 'Hochschwab-massiv' and the 'Voralps' you have the possibility for hiking. There are 200 km described routs with 100 peaks and 40 valleys wich you can discover.
The 'Erlauf'-lake offers you fun in the sun with 8000 m² sand- and shingle beach and 5000 m² sunbathing area. The average temperatures of the lake are 19-22 degrees.
Winter resort
The Mariazeller Alps make sure that you will have an unforgettable ski- and snowboardday.
The assurance of snow is given from December until March. Diverse hutted offer you a good aprè-ski.
For extreme divers the Erlaufsee offers you an icy diving adventure. (Registration 2 weeks before, approbation and chargeable).
Furthermore you can make a nostalgia horse sleigh ride where you can enjoy the winter wonderland.
