Spreading your wings, circling silently and efficiently in the air, and discovering an entirely new feeling. No problem in the 'Millstätter See' region. Amateurs as well as professionals are well aware of the ideal conditions. But beginners will also get their money's worth here. For paragliders and hang-gliders there has only ever been one flying school. The offer ranges from taster courses (1 day) and basics courses (6 days) to tandem flying and 'special pilot' courses. Whatever you've always wanted to know about aerodynamics, meteorology, high-altitude flights, perfect equipment, etc, you will learn here. For the oldest dream of mankind has finally become a reality.
On a sunny high plateau, directly beneath the Millstätter lake, lies the 18-hole golf course. Encased in a dream-like landscape, it offers breath-taking views of the surrounding world of mountains and lakes. Offering an 18-hole course, driving range with chipping, pitching and putting greens, a compact course with three par-3 holes, club house, pro-shop, a caddy room as well as a restaurant (open to the public) with a large terrace, and even facilities for night-golfers, the centre leaves nothing to be desired.
Winter resort
The first flakes of snow transform the mountains and valleys into a fairytale-like winter landscape, which offers sports enthusiasts a multitude of opportunities to take part in all kinds of winter sports.
You can't help but have a great time here, where the impressive panorama around the 'Hausberg Goldeck' mountain invites skiing and snowboarding fun, and where Carinthia's only winter paragliding school gives you wings.
From the town to the mountain: A large cable-car takes you up to the first level (Goldeck village, 1650m) in 8 minutes, where you can anjoy an easy practice slope with its own lift; in another 4 minutes you can reach the Obergeschoß (2050m), where a varied ski area with easy to intermediate slopes awaits you. Another entrance is possible, from the south using the Goldeck panoramic road. From Spittal, it is approx. 30 km on this road to the Seetal carpark.
More than 20 km of varied descents are at your disposal. The pistes with relatively few trees make things a little easier for the less confident skier, while the speed-deamons are catered for by a few racing pistes.
