Fulpmes - experience active winter!
Countless valleys, soft rising and with fresh powder snow covered hills and the adjoining mountains, which seem to rise to the the heavens. Inmidst of this rural idyll lies the family-friendly resort Fulpmes. Surrounded by the Stubai Alps with glaciers, which invite to ski the whole year round, this is the perfect place for all winter sports fans. !
A diverse children's entertainment programme in summer and winter, as well as a manageable number of ski areas distinguish Fulpmes as especially family-friendly. Toboggan runs up to 8 km long is every child's dream. Numerous winter hiking trails invite you for a walk through wonderful powder snow.
SkiThe ski resort Fulpmes has direct access with the lift Kreuzjochbahn to the ski area Schlick 2000, comprising 22 km of mainly easy pistes and 11 lift systems, which take you up to a maximal 2,240 m altitude. The ski area lies in a snow sure mountain basin and is known to be very family-friendly. Even the little ones will have a wonderful time in Big Ron's Kinderland at the middle station Froneben, on mainly easy pistes and in the children's land with a magic carpet.
Since 2018/2019 winter, the Panorama-comfort chair is replaced by Kreuzjoch tow lift and allows all guests to reach the mountain station at 2,112 m high in just a few minutes. Once you arrive, you can enjoy the new pistes "Panoramaschuss" and "Hohes Laub-Abfahrt", that enlarge the ski area and offer further highlights.
On the black Sennjoch piste, more experienced winter sports fans will find an adequate challenge. For example, the Stubaipark Schlick 2000 is located here with is rails and jumps of various levels of difficulty. On the lower half of the Sennjoch parlour, you can also test your speed on the Speed Run. Furthermore there is a free nature park available at the Sennjoch piste. In the end, all pistes run together at the Bruggeralm, so you really can't get lost.
You can enjoy even more km of piste with the "Stubaier Super Skipass", that offers you on 147 km of diverse pistes unforgettable experiences (see ski region).
Even after having had lots of fun on the pistes there's still plenty to do in Fulpmes. If you want to have a drink after a long day of skiing, you will definitely find a place to do so. Popular meeting points include the "Schlussliacht", which is only open durin gthe winter season and is located directly at the valley station of the Schlick 2000. Equally popular, the "Leo's Stadl Bar". If you're even more persistent you can party on in "Kuhstall" or at "Nachtkast'l". If you're looking to spend a more quiet evening, you can choose between numerous restaurants, beer and wine parlours.
If you prefer to stay sporty you can let off steam on one of the altogether 12 toboggan runs in the surrounding area. In Fulpmes, one of the runs leads from the Froneben middle station into the valley at a length of 2.6 km. Even better: possibly the longest natural toboggan run in the world is over 6 km long and leads down from the mountain station Elfer through idyllic Pinnistal until finally reaching Neder.
Natures lovers will find approx. 80 km of winter hiking trails. For ice climbers, Stubai Valley is an insider's tip, climbers can also try out the climbing hall in resort. If you're looking for relaxation, the leisure time centre in Neustift offers an indoor pool and sauna area. Additionally, there is another attraction at the Stubai Glacier: at the Eisgrat mountain station approx. 30 m below the piste, there is an ice grotto in which you can learn everything about glacial phenomenons. Those who still want to be up in the air after a day of skiing should definitely visit the "Air-Parc im Stubay"! The indoor freestyle paradise offers an obstacle course, a ramp for skateboards and multiple trampolines for you to let off steam.
Directly in Fulpmes, a valley track (approx. 3 km) leads through the wonderful landscape in a circuit. With this, you can surmount a total difference in altitude of 75 km. The trail is connected to the valley trail in Neustift, so practised skiers can extend the tour as they please.
A total of 62 km of cross-country trails make sure that cross-country skiers will have an enjoyable holiday in the Stubai Valley. The valley track runs straight through the Stubai Valley and offers wonderful and diverse sections. Should there however be too little snow there, you can easily head to the Stubai glacier. The round trail at Gamsgarten (2,650 m) is over 2 km long, and the fee for use of the trail is already included in the normal lift pass. The cross-country season here stretches from November to May!
A further highlight is the 45 km long high-altitude trail around the Serles, which allows you to travel at an altitude between 1,600 and 1,800 m.
