Further excursions can be made to the waterfalls in Krimml, which freeze into fascinating ice cascades in winter, as well as to the observatory and planetarium in Königsleiten.

The bars at the valley station as well as those in Hollersbach and Neukirchen entice you in to have a drink. A hot tip is the "Panoramaalm" on the 2,000 m peak; along the lines of "nomen est omen", you can enjoy an awe-inspiring view of the Hohe Tauern. In the evenings, it's time to head for the bars in town. If that's not enough for you, you should definitely do a detour to the nearby Kitzbühel and immerse yourself in the lively nightlife with international clientele.
During the day, you can find everything here that your heart desires, from horse-drawn sleigh rides to winter hiking, ice skating, tobogganing, right down to paragliding. What you certainly should not miss is a speedy descent on the longest tobogganing run in the alps: from the Wildkogel it leads a whole 22 km down to Bramberg.
