General information
St. Kathrein on Offenegg lies at 972 m above see level amidst the largest closed mountain pastoral area of Europe known as the Teichalm-Sommeralm area.
The township is the starting point for long relaxing mountain walks through the undisturbed nature of the area as well as sport activities of all descriptions and levels of difficulty.
How to get there
By car: From Western Austria and Germany: A8 Motorway Munich-Salzburg, then take the A10 in the direction of Klagenfurt until the Radstadt exit. Continue on the B146 to Liezen then enter the A9 Motorway in the direction of Graz at the St. Michael exchange continue in the direction of Vienna. Enter the S6 at the Bruck/Mur exchange and continue in the direction of Graz. Take the motorway exit at Frohnleiten-Süd and continue over Rechbergsattel-Passail in the direction of St Kathrein. From Vienna: A2 Motorway Vienna-Graz in the direction of Graz until the motorway exit Gliesdorf-West, continue from here in the B64 in the direction of Weiz, then Weizklamm towards St. Kathrein. From Carinthia and Italy: A2 Motorway in the direction of Vienna until the motorway exit Gliesdorf-West, continue from here in the B64 in the direction of Weiz, then Weizklamm towards St. Kathrein.
By train: Graz Central Trainstation then either by train or bus to Weiz and then take a connecting bus to St. Kathrein.
By airplane: The nearest Airport is in Graz.

Summer resort
In the mountain pastoral area of Teichalm-Sommeralm one can enjoy a diverse range of activites from hiking or wondering along the many different themed walking tracks, visiting the many herb gardens or taking a tour on mountain bike or just a relaxing bike ride through the township and surrounding areas. Here there is also the possibility of horse riding or spending the day at the 18 hole Mountain Golf Course.
Winter resort
Winter in St. Kathrein means Skiing, Snowboarding, Ice-skating on 'Teichalmsee', Sleigh riding, Bavarian Curling, Strolling through the winter wonderland or cross country skiing through the magnificent high plains countryside. In St. Kathrein and the adjoining area you will find 5 ski lifts all with rewarding pistes.
