About Burserberg Brandner Valley - presentation, information, photos and recommendations

Bürserberg – panoramic views included!

With just 528 residents, the idyllic resort of Bürserberg (871 m) is the smallest in the entire Brandner Valley. Thanks to its sunny location in the middle of the valley and the high plateau Tschengla (1,250 m), Bürserberg is a true paradise for relaxation and leisure activities. Whether it be on foot or on your skis or snowboard, a great landscape is waiting to be explored. The high plateau offers a panoramic view over five valleys, the monolithic stone circle of Bürserberg - an alleged place of cultural worship for local ancestors - frozen waterfalls and the alpine dairy exhibition on the Alpe Rona provides a fantastic mix of natural romance and tradition. A special highlight in both summer and winter comes from Anton "Husky Toni" Kuttner, of whom invites winter sports fans both little and big to learn more about his 19 sled dogs.

Ski
The lift pass "Montafon Brandnertal" opens up approx. 297 km of piste, located between 700 and 2,430 m altitude, to winter sports fans. Approx. 80% fo the pistes can be covered with artificial snow. The included skia reas Silvretta Montafon, Golm, Gargellen, Kristberg, Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, Brandnertal, Muttersberg, Gurtis, Schnifis as well as the Batora offer 79 modern lift systems for ascending the mountains. One of these lifts being the spectacular panoramic "Pendelbahn" lift which is a real highlight at 1,700 m. This lift connects both the Brand and Bürserberg ski areas together. Other activities off the piste for both beginners and experts alike include family-friendly children's programmes, the as well as the "Backyards" funpark in the Brandner Valley.

The Brandner Valley is also known as a real paradise for tour-goers. Three routes run through the mountain world - the most appealing being: a tour on the highest peak of the Rätikon, the Schesaplana.

Après ski fans can bustle about in the especially numerous amounts of pubs and taverns in Brand - the selection ranges from traditional live music to beats spun from a DJ's turntables. Those who prefer to stay in motion can go exploring on one of the many winter hiking trails - pass by the secretive stone circles or up onto the Tschegla high plateau. There on the Alpe Rona, hikers can not only take a break with fresh alpine products but can also learn about the process of cheese production from a "Senn", or Alpine dairyman. Rapid sledge rides are also possible on the 2 km long toboggan run in Bürserberg although a total of four runs are spread out over the entire Brandner Valley – the longest, with 5 km length, is the Schattenlagant toboggan run in Brand.

On the other hand, those who prefer to experience something truly special can find two special highlights: the first are the 19 huskies of Anton Kuttner a.k.a. "Husky Toni", with whom you can participate in a snowshoe hike with his canine friends or take a sledge ride. Children can also become little experts while mushing with the dogs in the children's dog sledging school. The adventure continues with a first class climbing experience: In the ice climbing area of Flurschrofa, you'll take on a frozen waterfall.

High altitude and valley trails alternate in Bürserberg and the surrounding area. A total of 24 km of trails are available to make use of. Clearly the best trail, the 10 km long panoramic circuit trail "Rona" runs along a high plateau between 1,200 - 1,300 m. With a view over five valleys and the monolithic stone circle, this trail counts as one of Austria's most beautiful. All trails boast an easy level of difficulty, so beginners can be sure to enjoy these phenomenal views as well.
